Stouts Travel goes beyond bus tours and bus trips and hits the rails with e Rocky Mountaineer’Launched in 1990, the family-owned rail company has grown to now operate three distinct routes in Western Canada, between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies towns of Jasper, Lake Louise or Banff, and a fourth route in the Southwest United States.  In 2021, the company began service on its first standalone US route, Rockies to the Red Rocks, connecting Denver, Colorado with Moab, Utah.  

In 1995, the company launched its signature GoldLeaf Service, a premium travel option with custom bi-level rail coaches with panoramic dome windows, and a la carte culinary offerings in a lower-level dining room. In 2015, the company made the largest capital investment in its history when it commissioned 10 new GoldLeaf Service dome coaches. 

In 2008, Rocky Mountaineer welcomed its one-millionth guest. Just nine years later, as Canada was celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2017, the two-millionth guest travelled on Rocky Mountaineer.
